AFRICA - DAY NINE - Hluhluwe

Today we went on a game drive to two game reserves that are connected to each other. Hluhluwe (pronounced Shoe-Shoe-/L/weh) and Umfolozi (pronounced Oem-foe-low-zee). I don't have a lot to say, as I think the pictures speak for themselves.

 

We did see a lion but he was too far away to take a picture. Overall we saw 3 of the big 5.

 

The BIG 5 are the following:

-Elephant

-Leopard

-Lion

-Rhino

-Buffalo

 

We got up pretty close and personal with these critters!

Who are you and what are you doing in my space?

We had lunch at a local lodge with a beautiful view.

Then this guy happened...

And the countryside is real pretty too.

And finally...

 

 

 

You know you are in Africa when you are woken up at 6am by a troupe of monkeys banging on your roof!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Actually I would have thought that was a given!
